Using this formula calculate the pulse width of each injector both at idle and when the engine is revved up
" Pulse width ms = ( % Duty cycle/100)/Frequency"
Idle:
Cyl # 1
Pluse width ms = (84.4/100)/0.008 = 105.5 ms
Cyl # 2
Pulse width = (84.6/100)0.008 = 105.75 ms
Cyl # 3
Pulse width = (84.6/100)/0.009 = 94 ms
Cyl # 4
pluse width = (84.5/100)/0.008 = 105.62 ms
Accelerated:
Cyl # 1
Pulse width = (54.5/100)/0.034 = 16.03 ms
Cyl # 2
Pulse width = (54.7/100)/0.023 = 23.78 ms
Cyl # 3
Pulse width = (54/100)/0.043 = 12.55 ms
Cyl # 4
Pulse width = (54/100)/0.048 = 11.25 ms
Q.Give your conclusion on whether this is an acceptable way to test injectors and why?
A. yes, but I think by osiciloscope is the better way to test injectors. It shows us the accurate results in the wave form.
